Church Pastor: Dana L. Burris
DanaLBurris@aol.com
It has been my joy to be senior pastor of FBCA since November 1999. I have the responsibility and privilege of preaching two sermons on Sunday and leading a Bible Study on Wednesday night. I also have the privilege of leading, shepherding and helping to cast a vision for FBCA. I was born in Washington, DC, but consider Missouri my home as I have lived here most of my life. Previously my pastorates were on the western side of the state near Kansas City, Missouri. My wife Sandy and I have been married since 1969 and we live in Arnold, Missouri. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of 6 and the Lord called me to preach at age 10. I was called to pastor my first church at age 16. I have pastored 8 churches during the last 47 years. Sandy and I are very thankful for our children and grandchildren. Our son Robin lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife and two daughters and our daughter Lea lives in Biloxi, Mississippi with her husband and daughter. Sandy serves as Church Secretary for a sister church, Maplewood Baptist Church. My sermon style is mostly expository with some topical, but always using Scripture to back up the points. Family is very important to us and we love to spend as much time as we can with our children and grandchildren. Sandy and I love playing with our three granddaughters, taking them places and having them at our house as well as visiting at their houses. The joy of my life is to know Jesus and to make Him known to others. It is a great privilege and a joy to be able to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive hard to create a family atmosphere in our worship services. You are invited and encouraged to come and be a part of our “family” at FBCA on any occasion.

Worship Leader: Seth Carruthers
carrusr@gmail.com
I have had the privelege of being the Worship Leader here at FBCA since August of 2007. My wife, Leann and I have been married since 2006 and live in Shrewsbury. In 2009 I earned a Bachelor of Music in Church Music and now work full time for MBU in the Records Office. I have been involved in music and worship in the church from a young age and I am very thankful to share the heritage that God has given me with the people of Affton. I currently lead worship on Sunday morning and evening and also direct the choir rehearsal each Sunday after our evening worship service. I am dedicated to serving the body of Christ as we enter into worship and I pray that you are encouraged and strengthened through a renewed connection with Christ each time we gather together.

Youth Ministry Leaders: Tom and Jennifer Martin
tjtk421@sbcglobal.net
Happily married since June 26, 1999 to Jennifer Martin (Director of Youth Asst.) and the real brains of the entire program. We have two wonderful boys Thomas Junior, and Gabriel, and a new addition… Ashlee Renee.
Jenny and I both have full-time jobs. For the past 14 years I've worked for the City of St. Louis Water Division, and most recently hold the position of water maintenance foreman at the Distribution Section. Jenny found her niche and her chance to minister to others as a trauma nurse at the St. Louis University Hospital emergency room. We both enjoy movies, deer sausage, and family time.
I believe the Lord called me to serve at First Baptist Church of Affton to fulfill the need for leadership and fellowship with the local youth. We are blessed with a very active youth group where each member has a sensitivity and sincerity towards spreading the gospel, and living Christ centered lives. |

My grandfather was a Southern Baptist preacher who set an excellent example for me.
I was raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where my family and I were involved in many areas of church service. I have used the God given gift of music to play piano since I was a teenager. |
