MOTHER'S DAY RECOGNITIONS

We were happy to recognize all Mothers on Mother's Day and we actually recognized all ladies present.  There are many women who have not given birth but they have exhibited the traits of Mothers as teachers, nursery workers, Sunday School teachers, Vacation Bible School Teachers, neighbors, babysitters and in many other areas as second Mothers.  They are all to be commended and praised.  Most any woman can give birth, but it takes a special woman to be a Mother or to exhibit the qualities of a Mother.  We also recognized four special ladies in our service on Sunday as they were presented with a bouquet of flowers.  They are:  (1)  OLDEST MOTHER - RUBY VERBLE,   (2)  NEWEST MOTHER - ABBEY BENDER (LINCOLN-18 days old),   (3)  MOST CHILDREN - SHIRLEY BOLEN (Mother of Tanya Shaw) and  (4)  MARRIED LONGEST -  WANDA BEZDEK (61 years).  May God richly bless our Mothers and thank you for all you do.  It is a pleasure to recognize you.

BRMF LUNCHEON

The Baptist Retired Men's Luncheon is scheduled for May 20 at our church at 11:30 am with the meal at noon.  Our ladies and men will serve the meal.  We are buying food from Bandana's Bar B Q.  We will have pulled pork, potato salad, Cole slaw, baked beans, bread, dessert and drinks.  The men from BRMF help reimburse the expense. If you would like to help with this meal, please contact Lou Wright.  This is a ministry that our church performs once a year for this group as they rotate between churches in the association.
